		<description>Wow----I grew up in Thornwood and went to this park hundreds of times in my lifetime.
Until today I thought the name of the pond was &quot;Leiths Pond&quot;.  How ironic is is that I spent over 25 years going there no knowing the correct name of the park!
Thanks for sharing your experience on how the park helped your transition into your new neighborhood.  
I remember being a little girl and feeding the ducks, playing in the huge sandbox with the indian tee-pee in the middle (I don&#039;t think it&#039;s there anymore), ice-skating in the winter, jumping rocks underneath the &#039;waterfall&#039; and then playing softball as I got older.
I hope your baby will retain as many precious memories of that place as I do.
