Rights of a person at the time of arrest in India
  • You have a Right to be informed about the grounds of arrest.
  • You must be produced before the nearest Magistrate within 24 hours.
  • You have a Right of not to be detained for more than 24 hours without judicial scrutiny.
  • You have a right to consult a legal practitioner of your choice.
  • You have a Right to be informed of right to bail.
  • You have a right to see the warrant if you are arrested under warrant.
  • You have the right to inform someone of your arrest.
