Kahaani starring Vidya Balan & host of many other talented actors is maai-baap of thriller films you might have seen in Hindi Cinema.

You will feel surrendered to the movie right from the first scene. Based in raw settings of Kolkatta, movie is about pregnant Bidya Balan, who has came from London to Kolkata to find her missing husband. You start watching movie as emotional drama which quickly shifts gears towards a suspense thriller.

As expected Vidya Balan is phenomenal but I must mention about other actors specially the person who played Insurance agent (his facial expression has some haunting effect) & Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Inspector Khan.

I won’t write too much about the story as I don’t want to spoil thrills/suspense. But overall you must watch Kahaani if you enjoy thriller movies. And if you don’t like thiller movies, then also its a MUST WATCH !!

‘London Paris New York’ is one such unique film.
The film starring Ali Zafar & Aditi Rao is a feel good romantic film. Also the music is good & never interrupt the flow.

Aditi Rao is brilliant actress. She was extremely good in her last film ‘Ye Saali Zindagi’ & is even better this time. Ali Zafar who is not only the lead actor but also music director, singer & lyricist of the film, has done good job in all departments. His outburst in climax was very good.

Overall, ‘London Paris New York’ is fresh & a good entertainer.

PS :- The last time I watched a movie with only 2-3 characters, was KAUN (starring Urmila & Manoj Vajpayee)

Almost everything is perfect about the film… story, performance, dialogues, locations, casting & last but not the least there are lots of funny moments even in such a serious story.

Dedicated to all sporting heroes of India who died penniless & uncared for, it is based on the true story of an Army person who has won Gold medals at Indian National Games for 7 years in a row but forced to become notorious dacoit (errr Baaghi)

The only down side of the film is the somewhat lengthy 2nd half but that may be because in Biopic, writers have to stick to real life story.

Do watch this film & get yourself entertained !!

1. Unlike ‘Bandit Queen’ or ‘Omkara’, there is no use of foul language at all, so buy tickets for entire family.

3. Give all ‘best actor’ awards in advance to Irrfan Khan

The fim is refreshingly satire on corruption, bureaucracy, common man & system. The subject is very real.

I really enjoyed the Ramleela analogy & sarcastic dialogues….. Jese police ek common man ko kehta hai ki ‘muzhe tumpe bharosa nahi hai but haan Chor pe poora bharosa hai ki woh jhooth nahin bolega’. Or when HanumanJi on his Bajaj Super scooter has a bomb instead of sanjeevni booti. Or when Ram is jealous of Hanuman bcoz public ne uske dialgue pe jyada taaliya bajayi. Or how character played by Ravan comes out to resuce Hanuman when Ram tries to hurt Hanuman. Or when Police bolti hai ‘Hanuman Ji…u r under arrest’

Akshaye is first rate, so is the guy who played Ram. But biggest letdown was the song featuring Veena Malik (it has vomitting effects)

Films like this should be made tax free kyuki ‘Yeh system ke gaal pe aam aadmi ka tamacha hai’

It has some very good moments….but some extremely yawning moments too. Some very good scenes, but some unnecesarry scenes too. Some funny moments, but some boring moments too.

Movie start with accidental marriage, similar to film ‘What Happens in Vegas’ & after that there is hardly any twist in the film. Everything is so predictable (unless you don’t watch hindi films). But some very good acting by both leads along with nice dialogues will make it as watchable film.

Kareena’s character is like ‘Jab We Meet’ but movie is noway near to that. And please don’t get me wrong when I say Imran Khan looks so stylish in the film….loved his dressing sense.

Hrithik Roshan has given very good performance but unfortunately the role given to him was missing the power & charisma of ‘vijay deenanath chauhan’ we saw in original Agneepath.
I guess the writer intentionally created a soft ‘Vijay Chauhan’ as they wanted to avoid direct comparison with Big B’s Vijay chauhan. The only time this Vijay appears stronger is in the last scene when he kills Kancha, otherwise rest of the film, Kancha appears stronger(smarter) than Vijay.

All the other actors Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, Master, Kid who played young Vijay …. they all have given great performance.
My fav part of the film was first 30 mins which surprisingly is without Hrithik. May be I liked the pace, background music & performance of Hrithik’s father, the kid during those scenes.

But there is overdose of violence in the film that appears heavy due to lack of comic relief, average music & length of the film.

Overall the movie is enjoyable due to great performances by all actors.
